August 2016 — Issue 27
We are pleased to share the work of the following artists and writers in the 27th issue of The Light Ekphrastic:
Anna Bernstein — Wild Boar; To the Man Who Winked at Me on the Train (poetry)
Morgan Downie — Contour; Treasured/Mermaid’s Tears (art)
Edward Doyle-Gillespie — Between Sets at The Top of the World Café; Through Elephant Grass (poetry)
J.C. Elkin — Birds on Birds; Winter White (poetry)
Sylvia Fischbach-Braden — Birds on Birds; Take-Out (art)
Allen Forrest — Blues Boogie; Through Elephant Grass (art)
Juliette Goodwin — Untitled; Winky (art)
TS Hidalgo — R&D; A country is built slowly, (poetry)
Christine Higgins — The Shell; Beach Glass (poetry)
Clinton Inman — Untitled (art)
Avelino Maestas — The White Virgin (art)
I am always happy to see the latest on TLE, Jenny! This one’s no exception. I was interested to see Clinton Inman’s name, and remembered that he was one artist I wrote a piece for but there was no corresponding work for one of my poems, and instead there was a third artist for me to write a poem for.
I see this again with this issue for Clinton’s work. I hope you’ll encourage Clinton to do response work if possible, because I know how much I like to see my work in visual form, and I’m sure other writers are too.
This is not meant as a complaint, and I do know that you do encourage people. JUst adding my unwanted two cents…
Keep up the good work you do. It supports us all in our art.

Yes, I agree. I thought we were on the same page about it this time, but apparently not. Thankful for great friends who can step in to complete the process!
