Peregoy & Dunlop – May 2024

Jennifer Lynn Dunlop and Chris Peregoy traded art and words. Chris shared this image, titled “The Dye Shed,” with Jennifer:

In response, Jennifer wrote this poem:

Camera Obscura

I stand before the edifice
of us, and I splinter
into shards
of aster purple, mulberry
and wild orchid pink. I float
the sky, embody

the imagination
of the composition and
memory of colour;
azure cannot contain

me, the bones in my face
awaken in silver. I witness
the structure of us,
and I am architecture
of cloud, petal
of sea, a bouquet

of sounds. I am reduced
to essentials, light
and water, the fact
the touch of your hand
both calms and
inflames, interlocking

alchemy. Together
we are novel, a fiery
interpretation, shadow
and radiance. We
reflect the mosaic
of sky, prisms rolling
on frothy light.

Jennifer shared this poem with Chris:

Beckoning Clouds*

we sang in the dawn
drawing it over us like a shawl
blue-gray with silvery threads

our bodies drawing in the bright air
the swirl of sun
a small spiral growing

we painted it with our mouths
our arms beckoning clouds
the life of us

sweeping all around

In response, Chris made this image, titled “Green Horizon”:
