Artist Bios – February 2016

laurenLauren Coggins lives in South Carolina and works in the insurance industry. Her work has appeared previously at Charlotte Viewpoint and in Ruminate Magazine. She very much enjoyed the creative challenge presented by being paired with a visual artist for The Light Ekphrastic!

Marlayna Demond is a semi-recent graduate from UMBC, and is a photographer both for her alma mater and for her own business. While taking photographs professionally was always the dream, now, taking photos for herself & for creativity’s sake is always in the back of her mind. Linda Franklin is an artist and writer living in Baltimore.

Michael GebeleinMichael Gebelein, is a poet, journalist and editor who lives in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina with his wife and two sons.

Photo_R HeimanRichard Manly Heiman lives in the California “Gold Country” where there is little gold left and no water from which to pan it. He works as a substitute teacher and writes evenings, weekends and when the kids are at recess. Richard is pursuing an MFA with Lindenwood U. His work has appeared, or will, in Mulberry Fork Review, Pilgrim, Bop Dead City, Rust & Moth, and more. His website URL is poetrick.com. KKlinedinst_portraitKaren Klinedinst is a landscape photographer and graphic designer from Baltimore. She graduated with a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Since 2011, she has been using her iPhone exclusively to photograph and express the landscape. She creates landscapes influenced by 19th century Romanticism with 21st century technology. Her landscape iPhoneography has been exhibited regionally and nationally, including: Massoni Art Gallery, Adkins Arboretum, Chestertown RiverArts Gallery, Maryland Art Place, Soho Photo Gallery, The Center for Fine Art Photography and the Biggs Museum of American Art. In 2015, she was awarded a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award. She teaches iPhone Photography workshops at the Creative Alliance, Chestertown RiverArts Gallery, Adkins Arboretum and at her Baltimore studio. Angel Aragón Mureddu works with poetry, painting, photography, sculpture/installation art, music composition and short films in Mexico City, Mexico. In other words, he is lost on the road of an artist, or rather, of the illusion of an artist. He is also director of Fallujah Magazine and Mute Lyre Films.
